Were you shocked to win miss indy?
Winning the Bartercard Miss Indy was a absolute shock. This was my second year in the competition and I came back expecting to do better than last year (i came about 14th in 2005), and perhaps get in the top 10. Obviously i came back wanting to win so when i actually happened i nearly died from excitement!!

What won it for you?
I think that i came back this year with a lot more confidence in my ability to do well. The judges are looking for someone who is confident and who can handle the media and duties that come along with the role. I feel like I met those expectations a lot better this year. Also, I ditched the idea that I needed to be protraying a certain image and decided to just be myself and if they didnt like it, well then it wasnt meant to be. That made things a lot easier this year!

What is the most memorable thing that happened during indy week?
I went for a fly in a black hawk helicopter over surfers paradise which was AMAZING!!! We went soaring up into the sky, then plummeting back down to the ground (with the door open mind you!) which was the scariest yet most thrilling thing i have ever done. Im really scared flying in planes and helicopters so it was a big thing for me.

What was the craziest moment?
Getting up at 4am for hair and make up. that was crazy i tell ya.

Your off to Mexico to compete for face of champ car - what's all that about?
Face of Champ car is like the Bartercard Miss Indy- but at an international level. All the winners from around america, canada, and US will be competing to win (there is 8 girls in total). The winner will be the official 'Face of Champ Car' and follow the racing circuit for the next year. Its the world's largest Grid Girl contest which will see one exceptional girl receive a promotional contract to promote the Champ Car World Series.

Do you feel confident on winning over there?
Im going in with the same attitude i went into the Bartercard Miss Indy with- just be confident, be myself and have fun. When i take things too seriously and try too hard i always seem to muck things up. So a natural approach will be better for me and hopefully lead me to success again. I would love to win because it means i will be travelling the world all next year!

What will you be upto after you get back?
I will be celebrating the end of 4 years at university with all my uni mates, going to see Pearl Jam with my best mate and basically taking it easy! I plan to move to the east coast early January.

Plans for the future?
I plan to move to the gold coast in january 2007 and take up any great opportunity that may come my way. I would love to get into TV presenting or radio. Maybe i might audition for dancing with the stars... ok, only joking about that one. who knows what the future might bring!!

Do you play any sports?
play indoor beach volleyball, netball and go running

What do you think of motocross?
It gives me the same rush as champ car racing- you know that flip your tummy does when you get excited?! I used to live in the country and every weekend would go down to the clay pits with the local motorbike crew and watch them fly over these massive jumps which was heaps of fun. I recently did a photo shoot for the Perth Street Bikes calander which was really fun- got to sit on all these hot rode bikes and be a biker babe haha!

Have you ever ridden a dirtbike before?
Yeah we used to have a DT 175 on our property in stratham. I remember burning around the block on that and thinking I was really cool cause i could ride a motorbike! I crashed it one day on the main road wearing thongs, shorts and a singlet top. I mangled my leg and arm and had to get back on the thing, ride it home and sit in a bath of detol. ouch.

Any last comments?
I think its WA's year for victory! My footy team won the grand final (go the Mighty West Coast!!) and other WA girls have had success in modelling competitions (i.e. Sam Lee won the Ralph swimwear model of the year).. so its looking up for the west!
