Honda’s competitive CRF’s are making their presence felt in a big way on the American Supercross circuits after storming the two most recent rounds of the ’08 series.
Torco Fuels Honda’s Kevin Windham started the sweep by holeshotting his CRF450R and winning his first AMA Supercross race two weeks ago in Houston, Texas in front of a 50,000 strong crowd.
This weekend just gone, Red Bull Honda’s Davi Millsaps added to the tally by winning his first AMA Pro Open Supercross race at the Georgia Dome in front of his hometown crowd.
Windham was not far behind, finishing in second along with team mate Andrew Short in third to make it an all-Honda podium.
After taking the holeshot in the first professional Eastern Regional AMA Supercross Lites race of his career, Torco Fuels Honda’s Trey Cannard also led all 15 laps of the main event in Georgia to take victory.
Honda Australia backed up the results for the international red team with Woodstock Honda Thor racer Craig Anderson winning the opening round of the 2008 Stroke Supercross Summer Nationals in Tooradin (VIC) in front of a sell-out crowd.
Anderson’s Pro Open team mate, Daniel McCoy went on to take the holeshot and lead much of the night’s last race before again finishing second behind Anderson, scoring third overall for the event.
The latest CRF450R has received a host of upgrades including the addition of Honda’s Progressive Steering Damper, redesigned steering head, new triple clamps and more.
